Curtain bangs are the easiest way to change your whole look without losing length. They frame your face, soften your features and grow out beautifully. The only catch is learning how to style curtain bangs so they fall the way they did when you left the salon.
The good news? It takes about two minutes once you know the trick.
Dry them first
Bangs dry faster than the rest of your hair, and once they've set in a direction, they're stubborn about changing. So always start with them while they're still damp. If they've already dried, just mist them with water.
The side-to-side trick
This is the part that changes everything. Using your fingers or a flat brush, dry your bangs repeatedly side to side, with the dryer pointing down. Keep going until they're almost dry.
It sounds too simple, but it takes away any cowlick or natural flip at the root and leaves your bangs neutral, ready to go wherever you send them.

Clients are always surprised with how easy this part is, especially since we don't need to be too precise or neat here.
Then roll them back
Split your bangs down the middle. Take a small round brush, place it under one side and roll it up and away from your face as you dry. Finish with the cool shot and let go. Repeat on the other side.
A slim barrel gives you that swoop without turning it into a flip. Our Ibiza brushes are what we use in the studio for exactly this.
Finish and forget
Run your fingers through to soften them, and that's it. If your hair is fine and tends to fall flat by lunch, a tiny bit of mousse at the root before you dry helps them hold.
On the second day, skip the full routine. Just dampen your bangs at the sink and repeat the two minutes.
I recommend getting a bang trim every 4–6 weeks, depending on how long or short the style is. It's quick and easy maintenance, especially since the trim only takes about 15 minutes!
Curtain bangs are meant to look a little effortless, so there's no need to get them perfect. Get them going in the right direction and let them do their thing.
